TPC2 is
- an intensive, 3-year program including two tuition-free courses of
Coursework & Professional Learning Communities and
- a Project of Research & Professional Development
Offered by CRESMET -
ASU's Center for Research on Education in Science,
Mathematics, Engineering and Technology
- Through a grant from the National Science Foundation

What will participants do in the TPC2 project?
- Participate in 2 graduate courses—Extended Analysis of Functions I and II. Courses meet for 2 weeks in the summer and 7 times during the fall semester
- Take EAF 1 in the summer of your first year and EAF 2 in the summer of your second year
- Meet weekly with the teachers in your mathematics professional learning community for 3 years
What is a mathematics professional learning community (PLC)?
A group of mathematics teachers who:
- Cooperate toward a common goal of improving student learning by enhancing their teaching and enhancing the mathematics they teach
- Dig deeply into mathematical ideas and how students come to understand them
- Work together to plan instruction and assess student learning
What benefits will participants receive?
- Person growth in mathematical knowledge
- A strong intellectual community of fellow teachers dedicated to continually improving their mathematics teaching practice
- A $1,000 per year stipend for participating in both a course and a PLC
- Tuition-free graduate credits for the EAF courses
- A laptop that becomes the teacher’s own when he or she completes the program
- New knowledge about using technology in powerful ways for teaching
